The great Koonaklaster

The YSI group initiated a project where we're all supposed to make mixes, or greatest hits of different artists. I'm choosing Fahey. He was a gateway for me into a lot of great new discoveries, so I figured I'd give him his due. This isn't a greatest hits as much as it is a rough sketch of his career. I don't have everything he released, but I do have a fair amount, and I tried to find something to add from each of them. This mix is not in chronological order, instead I used the schedule of the tides. The Mix was too big to upload as one file with Mediafire, so its split into two zip files. Enjoy.

Hendo Bendo Mix

Here's a batch of songs for you to prep you for the most important day in recent memory. There isn't really a theme (which I will try to focus more on in later posts...), beyond the fact that this is all stuff that I got recently, and has all been released relatively recently.

Hush Arbors - Gone
Juana Molina - El Vistido
Valet - We Went There
Shogun Kunitoki - Montezuma
Grails - Reincarnation Blues

Hendo Bendo Mix

While I've been watching this "Town Hall" style debate tonight, I've been making a short playlist. Since McCain was pissing me off so much, the mix favors the short fast rocknoll/punkrock blasts. I think watching it on CNN and seeing that "squiggly line" on the bottom, and realizing that people were eating up some of the utter BS that McCain was spewing pissed me off further. What a dingus.

Anyway, here it is. Another short mix. Woop dee doo. Go break something.

The Pagans - Dead End America

Bad Brains - Pay To Cum
The Sins - Fighting in the USA
Ape City R&B - She's Candy Coated
The Hunches - Get Some Hate
The Dils - Class War
The Dils - I Hate The Rich
Sham 69 - Borstal Breakout
The Boston Chinks - Swollen Useless

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

I am part of a group of people at work that parcipate in a cd swap. There are about 11 of us, and the way it works is that we each make a mix, and make enough copies to give to each person. They usually have different themes that we need to stick to. For the latest mix that I made (I'm actually handing it in tomorrow), the theme was to re-make a soundtrack for the movie of your choice with you whatever songs you want. I chose to make a new soundtrack for the 1998 Terry Gilliam movie, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, which was an adpatation of the semi(?)-autobiographical book by Hunter S. Thompson. I was considering Where The Buffalo Roam, but Fear and Loathing was more tongue-in-cheek druggy, which lent itself easily to a psych soundtrack. Also, Where The Buffalso Roam's soundtrack was done by Neil Young, and quite frankly, you dont fuck with that. I made a zip file of the mix I made, and hopefully it will have transferred without problems.

Here's the zip file
