We Will Never Agree On Anything As We Agree On...Top 5 Stooges Songs
In honor of the fact that the three of us are going to see The Stooges live in NYC in 2 weeks, as well as the fact that their new album got a 1.0 from Pitchfork............ What are your top 5 Stooges songs?
Fuck those Pitchfork sons of bitches. Even if the new Stooges has some head-scractcher lyrics, the record wasn't intended to match or advance the catalog. It's for fun, for a tour and for making some fucking dough, none of which anyone should have a problem with!!
1. 1970 2. Shake Appeal 3. No Fun 4. I Got A Right 5. T.V. Eye
Also, Mike Watt looks strangely like a George Bush impersonator in that photo.
The Stooges were dying after their first 2 albums, they really died before punk started, and bearing the name "Stooges" today is a crime. My fave traX are: 1. TV eye 2. I got a right 3. 1969 4. Gimme some skin 5. Cock in my pocket And by the way, if the MC5's "Gotta keep movin'" (HOORAY Dennis Thompson) were written by The Stooges, too, it would bear No.1 in the above list!!! Mitch Useless
There's definetly a huge difference between the first two records and Raw Power, but its still got some killer songs on it. I've put off listening to the whole new album (I've only heard a few tracks), but when we saw them live at the Little Steve Garage Festival a few summers ago, The Stooges were a highlight on a day filled with them.
Nowadays, I'd probably listen more to "Little Doll" or "Not Right" than "TV Eye," but that's only because I played "TV Eye" 80 million times in high school, so... that's pretty much the highest endorsement for a song, isn't it?
no you didn't...

Any grouping of five songs off the S/T and Fun House LP's will do it for me.
